Piano Recital: Sergey Belyavsky

Described as demonstrating “an extraordinary expressive intelligence,” pianist Sergey Belyavsky is renowned for his vast and diverse repertoire, and he has been called “one of the best pianists in the world today.” Sergey has won prizes in more than thirty international piano competitions – more recently, the Second Prize and the Audience Prize at the 76th Concours de Genève, and the First Prize at the Malaga International Piano Competition in Spain. He has performed in such important venues as Carnegie Hall, the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, the Salle Gaveau in Paris, and the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, and has appeared in concerto with such internationally acclaimed orchestras as the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, and the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra. The Pharos Arts Foundation collaborates with the Malaga International Piano Competition in bringing this remarkable pianist to Cyprus for the first time. Sergey Belyavsky promises to fascinate the audience with his technical command and deeply nuanced interpretations in a bold and ambitious programme of works by C.P.E. Bach, Liszt, Rachmaninov, Scriabin, and Schumann.
