Antoine Morinière

Winner of the First Prize at the International Sevilla Guitar Competition in 2015, Antoine Morinière has also won numerous other international guitar competitions, including First Prizes at the Wien Guitar Competition, the Ville d’Antony Guitar Competition in France, the Santa Cecilia International Competition, the Tivat Guitar Competition, the International Guitar Competition Olzstyn in Poland, and the Leopold Bella Competition in Paris.

In chamber music, Antoine Morinière has collaborated with such renowned artists as Léo Brouwer, Fatma Saïd, Philippe Bernold, Raphaël Feuillatre, Gabriel Bianco, to name but a few. For the last decade, Antoine has been collaborating extensively in a guitar duo with Thibaut Garcia, on a Baroque-focused repertoire spanning from Bach and Scarlatti to Couperin and Rameau. In the last 3 years, the two guitarists are touring with a new project of a transcription of Bach’s Goldberg Variations, on new guitars made by Hugo Cuvillier.

Antoine Morinière is equally enthusiastic about contemporary music, and he has collaborated with several composers including Raphaël Sévère, Jean Frédéric Neuburger, and the Japanese composer Rikako Watanabe. Antoine has also been exploring new music territories, and he has been collaborating with the Iranian mezzo-soprano Anousha Nazari in the project “Baroque Labyrinth”, which connects occidental and oriental music worlds, while he has been joining forces with the Sami Yusuf Ensemble for concerts all over the world.

Antoine is using Savarez strings, plays guitars from Martin Blackwell, Kim Lissarague and Hugo Cuvillier.
