NIKITA MNDOYANTS

Having been described as an “excellent pianist as well as a wise and thoughtful musician” (Gramophone), Nikita Mndoyants is the First Prize winner of the 2016 Cleveland International Piano Competition, the First Prize winner of the 2007 Paderewski International Piano Competition, and as a composer, the First Prize winner of the 2014 Myaskovsky International Competition for Composers in Moscow, and the 2016 Prokofiev International Competition for Composers, in Sochi, Russia.

Mndoyants has performed with such important orchestras as the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, Berlin Philharmonic, Baden-Baden Philharmonic, Gangnam Symphony Orchestra of Seoul, Russian and Moscow State Symphony Orchestras, amongst others, under the baton of renowned conductors, including Charles Dutoit, Leonard Slatkin, Vassily Sinaisky, Hans Graf, Eri Klas, to name but a few. He regularly appears in some of the world’s most prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall in New York, Great Hall of the Moscow State Conservatory, Salle Cortot and Auditorium du Louvre in Paris, Bozar Centre for Fine Arts in Brussels, Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Rudolfinum in Prague, Severance Hall in Cleveland, Lotte Concert Hall in Seoul and many others. Nikita regularly appears in major international festivals and concert series, including the Klavier-Ruhr Festival (Germany), Chopin Festival in Duszniki-Zdroj (Poland), Mariinsky International Piano Festival (St. Petersburg), International Keyboard Institute and Festival (New York), International Piano Series in Fribourg (Switzerland).

Having given his first chamber concert in 2004, at the age of fifteen, with the legendary Borodin Quartet, Mndoyants has continued to cultivate his passion for chamber music, and he has collaborated with renowned ensembles and soloists. He is also well established as a composer and his compositions have been performed by Alexander Vinnitsky, Alexander Rudin, Daniel Hope, Nicolas Stavy, the Szymanowski and Zemlinsky Quartets, Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, amongst others. His extended discography includes albums on the Classical Records, Melodiya, Praga Digitals labels, Steinway & Sons label and Aparté label. Nikita Mndoyants has been based in France since 2018.
