Violin & Piano Recital: Konstantina Maimari (violin) & Christos Yiallouros (piano)

As part of its Cyprus Artists Series, dedicated to the endorsement of leading musicians from Cyprus, the Pharos Arts Foundation presents a violin and piano recital with two brilliant Cypriot artists of the younger generation. With her performances having been described as “warm, vibrant and full of energetic nuance”, violinist Konstantina Maimari has appeared in prestigious venues, festivals, and concert series around Europe, including the Queen’s Hall in Edinburgh, Festival d’ Aix en Provence (France), Rosin Chamber Music Festival (UK), and has collaborated with orchestras and ensembles such as the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Scottish National Opera, and the Brodsky Quartet. Konstantina will team up with the remarkable young pianist Christos Yiallouros – currently a doctoral student at Oxford University. With an impressive range of repertoire spanning from Baroque to contemporary music, Christos has premiered several new works for piano solo and small ensembles, and has collaborated with animation artists developing projects and performances presented in the London Piano Festival. For their recital at The Shoe Factory, Konstantina and Christos will demonstrate their exceptional talents in a virtuosic programme of sonatas by Beethoven, Stravinsky and Prokofiev.
