Born in 1982, Marion Martineau studied cello at the Paris Conservatoire in the class of Roland Pidoux, obtaining a unanimous premier prix. From 2008 to 2011, she benefited from teaching of Christophe Coin in the viola da gamba class at the same institution, obtaining her prix in June 2011.
Marion Martineau, a member of the consort of viols Sit Fast, is regularly invited to play with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France. In addition, she collaborates with Baroque ensembles such as Les Talens Lyriques, Stradivaria and Le Concert d’Astrée. With Atsushi Sakai, she forms a bass viol duo, championing the repertoire of the 17th and 18th centuries as well as contemporary scores. Aware of the importance of music in the other arts, she is particularly interested in theatrical creation.
