Tim Park

Cellist Tim Park has been praised for his energetic and exhilarating performances as well as for his expressive and beautiful sound. Concerts as soloist, recitalist and chamber musician have brought Tim to many of the world’s most prestigious concert halls. Tim has performed as soloist with orchestras such as the New York Chamber, Detroit Symphony, Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra, Orquestra Sinfonica Nacional de Venezuela, Moscow Radio Symphony Orchestra, Berlin Sinfonie-Orchestra, Berliner Symphoniker, Lithuanian National Chamber Orchestra, Tel-Aviv Camerata, Berliner Camerata.

An avid chamber musician, Tim performs frequently at music festivals such as the Jerusalem Chamber Music Festival, Bach Festwochen Ansbach, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Lucerne Festival, S&R Foundation’s Evermay International Chamber Music Festival at the Evermay Estate (Washington DC) and the Kennedy Center, and regularly collaborates with such distinguished artists as Daniel Barenboim, Elena Bashkirova, Alessio Bax, Andras Schiff, Michael Barenboim, Paul Meyer and Emmanuel Pahud.

Born to Korean parents, Tim grew up in New York and began cello lessons at the age of eight. He entered the Juilliard School at eleven and continued studies at Yale University with Aldo Parisot. He finished his degrees in Germany studying with David Geringas at the Musikhochschule Lubeck and the Hochschule fur Musik ‘Hanns Eisler’ Berlin. Tim has also studied with Steven Isserlis, Boris Pergamenschikov, M. Rostropovitch and Janos Starker in masterclasses.
