VIDUSHI ROOPA PANESAR sitar

Roopa Panesar has appeared at major venues and festivals across Europe, India, and the USA, including London’s Darbar Festival, WOMAD UK, and the BBC’s televised VJ75 memorial in the presence of The Prince of Wales. She has collaborated with the Belgian Symphony Orchestra, Talvin Singh, and Sir Simon Rattle’s City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, earning international acclaim for her expressive, contemporary approach to the sitar. Trained from childhood under Ustad Dharambir Singh, and further guided by masters such as Pandit Arvind Parikh and Ustad Shahid Parvez, Panesar combines deep classical grounding with an openness to jazz and Western musical forms.
